Meet Fizzoy: the world's first 16-strain probiotic soda

Fizzoy™ is the newest member of the Velobiotics family: a synbiotic soda with 1 billion live probiotics from 16 strains and 3 g of prebiotic fibre, with under 2 g of sugar and 30 calories per can. Founders pre-orders are open now.

Why a soda?

Health routines fail when they feel like chores. Most of us will happily open a cold can of something fizzy, yet a standard 355 ml cola carries about 39 g of sugar, 140 calories and nothing your gut bacteria can use. Fizzoy flips that: real soda fizz and flavour, with the good stuff inside.

What makes it a synbiotic

A probiotic is a live, beneficial bacterium. A prebiotic is the fibre those bacteria feed on. Put them together and you have a synbiotic. Every can of Fizzoy has 1 billion live probiotics from the same 16 strains used across the Velobiotics range, plus 3 g of prebiotic fibre so the bacteria have something to eat when they arrive.

Arriving alive

Most probiotic drinks lose the bulk of their bacteria to stomach acid. Fizzoy uses the patented SCO2 microencapsulation behind every Velobiotics product: each bacterium is wrapped in a micro-shield that protects it through the stomach so it can reach the lower gut. The technology has been studied in three peer-reviewed papers.

Five flavours

• Tummy Tropics: passionfruit, mango and a splash of citrus zest.
• Cherry Chillax: rich dark cherry with a crisp, bubbly finish.
• Colossal Cola: classic cola spice, vanilla and a bright citrus snap.
• Lemon Lime Lift: squeezed lemon and lime with a sparkling, tangy lift.
• Zesty Ginger: fiery fresh ginger rounded with citrus warmth.
